Andrea (Hibbeler) Miller was born and raised in St. Charles, MO. When asked the typical St. Louis question, “Where did you go to high school?” she responds truthfully with “I didn’t.” then follows up with an explanation that she was home-schooled from 1st through 12th grades. Miller always had a strong interest in entrepreneurship and at some point during middle school she decided she would someday open a music school.
In May of 2009, Miller graduated from Saint Louis University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship and a second major in Piano Performance. An odd combination, but the ideal educational foundation for her entrepreneurial ventures. During her junior and senior years at SLU, Miller worked with professors, entrepreneurship center advisers, and mentors to develop her business plan and, in September of 2009, The Music Room opened in the Tower Grove neighborhood of south St. Louis. The school started with only one student, but has grown steadily ever since. Today The Music Room offers private lessons in several instruments, summer music camps, and early childhood classes.
